The Consorzio Tutela Lambrusco (Lambrusco Protection Consortium) has 70 member wineries, all located in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia. It protects six different denominations: Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC, Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC, Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce DOC, Modena DOC, Reggiano DOC and Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa DOC. All six denominations have over 50 years of age, so they are strongly rooted in the territory whose conviviality, liveliness, enthusiasm and sparkling creative energy they recount. In January 2021, the previous existing protection consortiums merged into the single Consorzio Tutela Lambrusco, whose president today is Claudio Biondi, supported by vice president Davide Frascari and director Giacomo Savorini. Overall, about 50 million bottles of Lambrusco DOC are produced each year, plus more than 115 million bottles of IGT.
