Abruzzo is a unique region in Italy for its geographical characteristics: it overlooks the Adriatic Sea but at the same time, a few kilometers from the beaches, you can admire the highest mountains of the Apennines: the Gran Sasso d’Italia and the Majella. Abruzzo is also known as the “green region of Europe” for the massive presence of national parks and over thirty protected areas. The Abruzzo area is naturally predisposed to viticulture, thanks also to the climate, rather mild on the Apennine side facing the Adriatic, more continental than that of the internal basins.
Overall, therefore, the advantages of good rainfall and high insolation are combined with a generally mild climate. The imposing massifs of Gran Sasso and Majella generate strong temperature variations between day and night that, combined with good ventilation, guarantee the vines an ideal microclimate for vegetating and producing grapes of extraordinary quality.
