The organic farm Tenuta L’Impostino turns twenty. We are located in Civitella Paganico, in the heart of the Montecucco wine production area, a small jewel of the Tuscan DOCGs that comes to life on the soft hills of the upper Maremma, enclosed between the provinces of Grosseto and Siena.

Galeotto was a completely random journey that, towards the end of the nineties, led the owners Patrizia Chiari and Romano Marniga, entrepreneurs originally from Brescia, to visit an old stone farmhouse – today a delightful farmhouse of the Estate – embraced by a hilly phyteatro in the quiet of the Tuscan countryside. The view of the estate’s vineyards, the luxuriant woods and the colors of the surrounding nature have completed a picture of authentic magic and forever conquered the hearts of Patrizia and Romano, who twenty years ago decided to color an ambitious project in this wonderful land, literally set between the denominations of Brunello di Montalcino and Morellino di Scansano. A closeness that did not frighten the two spouses, but which, on the contrary, has strengthened the desire to enhance the territorial identity of this wine-growing niche, where Sangiovese becomes a witness and heir to tradition and dedication that have lasted for centuries.
A project, Lupo Nero, which, due to its exceptional peculiarity, decides to go beyond the boundaries of the tangible to meet the technology of Non Fungible Tokens. Presented in absolute preview on the occasion of the Gala Dinner organized on 13 September 2022 at the enchanting garden of Tenuta L’Impostino in the presence of institutions and media, Lupo Nero’s NFT is part of the CATCH THE 22 Collection of Italian Wine Crypto Bank, which collects some extraordinary wines chosen by Filippo Bartolotta, an internationally renowned wine expert and storyteller, and marks the debut of Tenuta l’Impostino in the innovative market of digital art and collectibles, applied to the world of food & wine. Following the direction of the Parisian artist Lisa Paclet who signs the digital works of art, Filippo starts from the narration of the wine or the cellar that have been selected based on the great quality and rarity of the products as well as for their ability to convey messages that they go far beyond the organoleptic and gustatory experience. These tailor-made and new generation tools help to create added value in the corporate offer, representing new investment frontiers for wineries and parallel sources of income for brands ranging from premium to luxury.
The Merlot del Lupo Nero is grown at an altitude of 300 m a.s.l., on clayey soils, characterized by a strong presence of skeleton of various shapes and sizes, mainly of calcareous origin, thus suggesting a marine origin of the substrate. The respect and maintenance of this soil profile during all the preparation operations for the planting of the vineyard have immediately maintained and enhanced a high structural and biological quality level. The theory strengthened over time thanks to the scientific path undertaken with the Biopass project which, based on international protocols and objective data, on a national scale has identified the land owned – the Pietroso in the front line – as among the most interesting of all for the wealth of biodiversity.
