The third edition of QWine is approaching! QWine Expo , the international wine fair is scheduled for November 14-16 in Qingtian, Zhejiang , where Italy will still have a leading role.
Despite the difficulties due to the pandemic, over 40 wineries will represent Italy with their wines, also thanks to the help of their Chinese importers and the services developed by Wine Channel to participate remotely and in total safety.
The idea of giving Italy a leading role was born for two reasons: the first is that, despite being the first wine producer in the world, our country in China is still in fourth place (after France, Australia and Chile). The second is that Qingtian has an ongoing project to become a reference point for imported wine and this is where 90% of the Chinese resident in Italy come from.
Also this year the program is full of events, including four masterclasses organized by the Italian-Chinese staff of Wine Channel / 19Pindao in collaboration with the consortia and wineries participating in the fair.
The first appointment will be with the Italian wine ambassador VIA Wu Min for a masterclass entitled “The splendor of the Apennines: tasting of the typical wines of central-southern Italy” ; to follow, the masterclass of the Consortium for the protection of Abruzzo wines dedicated to Montepulciano , led by the famous wine teacher and best-selling author Sophie Liu , who will also conduct the next appointment with the protection consortium Chianti wine dedicated to Vin Santo Doc . Finally, ONAV taster and AIS sommelier Wang Lu will attend the event “The great wines of Italy” .
