The former Aurum comes back to life with wine and Torri Cantine

Riccardo Iacobone: “I imagine a place frequented by consumers and no longer a mysterious, albeit fascinating place, as Aurum has been in past years “

riccardo iacoboneLife returns to the spaces that once belonged to the Illva Saronno, in Città Sant’Angelo, where Aurum was produced. And the recovery brings with it new jobs. Those four hectares, on which there are three warehouses separated by greenery, were purchased by Torri Cantine , whose wine production plant is located in the province of Teramo, in Torano Nuovo. Soon the spaces on the Lungofino street, empty and unused for years, since the Aurum no longer exists, will become “the central warehouse, thesorting hub for Europe and for all other markets “in which Torre Cantine operates, as announced by Riccardo Iacobone, CEO of the Group Micso and of Rosarubra , owner of this constantly growing reality, especially for online sales. And precisely this development “requires an increase in production and therefore in storage and personnel”.

Mayor Matteo Perazzetti, who feels he is “the father” of this intervention “because it all started with a joke of mine”, is “enthusiastic”. «Together we invented the operation» on a disused structure «dear to Città San’Angelo and which is now back in vogue. Bringing a company here means creating jobs for the area »so the goal« for the policy must be to attract businesses. We have been far-sighted and I can only welcome this news ».

The procedure that led to the purchase of the Illva Saronno area was “long and has just ended,” explains Iacobone. There will be no downtime because the selection of personnel to be employed in the three warehouses has already begun, given that the activity in the Angolan center will start by the summer. “It is right that there are repercussions on the territory of this operation,” says Iacobone, explaining that the research started right in Città Sant’Angelo. “There are dozens of people to be employed and only part of them are already in our staff, like those of high level (for example oenologists and chemists). In part they will be administrative, in part production workers “and the goal is to find” motivated young people who want to work, people who know how to integrate and be part of the team “, continues the representative of Torri Cantine, also announcing the address to send the curriculum to: info@torricantine.it . Iacobone’s project is to transfer to Città Sant’Angelo “the entire wine group, with the offices, which are now in Pescara, the complete bottling and warehouses, given that the spaces available in the Teramo area begin to be undersized, for numbers to be achieved “.
In Città Sant’Angelo, ” there will also be a store , in the spaces facing the street”. Iacobone imagines “a place frequented by consumers and no longer a mysterious, albeit fascinating place, as Aurum has been in past years” and it was precisely this aspect that always attracted his attention, until he realized that it would be the ideal place for Torri Cantine, also in consideration of the «position, close to the A14 and the shopping centers». There is also another impact on Città Sant’Angelo, because “if the Municipality wishes” it will be able to use these spaces “for cultural activities “. The interventions to be carried out are minimal so it will be possible “to leave immediately, before or during the summer”.
